What is a domain name?
A domain name is a unique address that identifies you on the Internet. Once a domain name is registered by a customer, it is not available to any other customers to register. Domain Names allow Internet users to type in a name, such as domainlah.com, to identify a numeric IP address such as 72.20.3.18. The purpose of domain names is to allow ordinary users connected to the Internet to find web sites and send email to addresses with familiar names such as "domainlah.com" without having to memorize the numerical IP addresses that actually locate the computers or servers on the Internet. |
Why should I register a domain name (now)?
The facts are clear, if you are not using the internet in your business or for personal endeavors, you will at some point. Each day tens of thousands of domain names are being registered and when the time comes that you want to register your domain name of choice, it may very likely be taken by someone else, and in most cases there is little you can do to aquire it. |

What are the valid characters for domain names?
The English-language letters A through Z, and the digits 0 through 9. You may also use hyphens "-" however it cannot begin or end in a hyphen and you cannot have two hyphens in a row. |
Are domain names case sensitive?
No! Domain names are NOT case sensitive. You may advertise your name in upper or lower case or a combination of both. |
Can I register a domain name if I don't have website?
Yes! Domain Parking reserves your domain name for a future website. If someone tries to access your domain, a "coming soon" page will be displayed. This is the default setting for newly registered domains. You can leave your domain parked for as long as you like. Once you do have a website, it's easy to make the switch. |
Can I have more than one domain name pointing to my website?
Yes, you can have as many domain names as you like pointing to your website. You can achieve this by using our URL redirection service, available from the Manage My Account section. |
